Percussion in Den Haag
As the name suggests, Slagwerk Den Haag (SDH) has its roots in The Hague, and has maintained a close connection tot the city throughout its existence for over 35 years.
- founders: SDH's founders were part of the percussion faculty at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague
- players: the vast majority of the various generations of SDH percussionists received their training at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague
- studio: SDH has a studio with a huge collection of instruments in The Hague (Labs55, Lulofstraat). The percussion studio, which was realised with support from the Municipality ot The Hague, also offers rehearsal space on a project basis to ensembles from The Hague, including Klang and SONOlab
- Hague venues: SDH can be heard and seen on a regular basis in venues in and around The Hague, including Korzo Theater, Theater Dakota, Dr. Anton Philipszaal en Theater aan het Spui
- Education & talent development: together with partners including Koorenhuis, Korzo Theater and the Royal Conservatoire, SDH plays an educational and talent development role in The Hague
- Hague collaborations: SDH collaborates with Dag in de Branding, Huis Nieuwe Muziek, het Koorenhuis, Johan Wagenaar Stichting, Hague schools, Korzo Theater, the Royal Conservatoire, De Betovering, the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag and others, and hopefully also with Stichting Atrium City Hall en Todays Art Festival in the near future
