Nine Rivers

In June in Amsterdam again, the Holland Festival, since 1947, the leading international performing arts festival in the Netherlands. Hague Percussion is a welcome guest at the festival.

On Saturday, June 8 Nine Rivers is programmed, the magnum opus of the Scottish composer James Dillon. Dillon in his music combines sound research, the intensity and passion for percussion by composers such as Xenakis and Varèse with the penchant for mystery and ritual of Messiaen and Stockhausen.

The six-hour work is carried out by three Dutch ensembles - Asko | Schönberg, Capella Amsterdam and The Hague Percussion - and the American virtuoso percussionist and conductor Steven Schick. A unique experience!
